Featuring indiebrag Children's & Middle Grade Books

This week on indiebrag is Children’s Book Week and this month on Layered Pages I will be featuring indiebrag award winning middle grade and children’s books. Indiebrag’s mission is to discover new and talented self-published authors and help them give their work the attention and recognition it deserves. Their primary focus is fiction across a wide range of genres; however, they selectively consider non-fiction books as well.

“The More that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go,” -Dr. Seuss

Today I am sharing books by P.J. LaRue, Laura S. Wharton and Kim Votry. Explore the magic, mystery and spells with these three great stories! Your kids will love it!

Have you ever wanted to ride a dolphin or dreamed of playing on a rainbow as if it were a waterslide?
How would you feel if someone tried to kidnap you, and you were forced to move to Hawai’i to hide and live with people you don’t know? That happened to Harmonie.
Come meet Harmonie, her new Mystic Princess friends, and find out what happens when her enemies, the Children of Ares, find her again.

Ten-year-old Jock Avery and his two new friends have a noisy mystery to solve in their lakeside community. An unusual screeching sound has everyone on pins and needles, except a sinister neighbor. Some say it’s a lake monster, but Jock’s not convinced. Can he and his two friends find the answer before trouble finds them?

One September morning, Famous Author Anna Prosaic arrives at Salem Elementary School and everybody notices her. Some kids later talk about how the backs of their necks tingled as she went by, and the hair on their arms stood up.

She is mysterious, no doubt about it. Odd. Suspicious. And why would a famous author volunteer to teach a novel-writing workshop to sixth graders, anyway? She must be a witch, reasons 12-year-old Morgan, with a diabolical plan to steal away our imaginations!

Morgan and her friends do everything they can to ward off the witch’s power, but one by one they fall under her spell. Morgan knows she is the only one standing in the witch’s way and, against her will, even she feels herself falling…
